Where have the last 12 months gone? So much has happened that I hardly know where to begin.
Over the past year, my mother’s health continued to decline. Her husband was hospitalized in February, and I stayed with her because she could no longer be by herself. Then in late March, Mother went into the hospital and passed away.
Since then, I have been handling her probate while also helping her husband with finances, doctor’s appointments and other needs. He also fell and broke his neck, which added another layer to everything. Thankfully, things finally seem to be settling down.
We have also decided that the three-hour round-trip drive to Huntsville has simply become too much. When we moved back to our hometown area, I was working completely from home and expected my new contract to remain remote. Six months later that changed, and I returned to the office. That commute doesn’t leave much time in the evenings, especially for my business.
With everything that has happened, it’s no surprise that my business has taken a back seat. But behind the scenes, I have been working on rebranding Elegant Photo Solutions and preparing for what comes next.
Starting in October, I’m ready to get things moving again!
As my daddy always said, “Life happens. You just have to pick yourself up by the bootstraps and keep on trucking.”
And that’s exactly what I’m going to do.
As you have seen recently, I am communicating with you by text messaging a lot. I feel like more of you are getting the messages that way since our Inboxes are inundated with emails daily and Facebook most times don’t show posts from the Trail Blazers Group in our newsfeeds on a regular basis. Therefore, I am going to continue sending reminders about Team Chats via text messages. I hope more of you will join me on our Team Chats as your time allows.
Recently, I have had to change website hosts and in rebuilding my website, I have found a way to host a private area for our Trail Blazers Newsletters (I am no longer using MailChimp). There is no need to subscribe to another website, the newsletters will be hidden from everyone, and you will get a link via text message, the Trail Blazers FB Group and Messenger group. All you have to do is click the link and see the newsletter. Once you click the link, you will also see the archive of all newsletters starting with this one. My plan is to publish a team newsletter regularly, as needed, and share the link through all three channels.
If you aren't seeing posts from the Trail Blazers Facebook Group in your newsfeed, stop by the group occasionally and interact with a few posts by liking, commenting or posting. You can also pin the group to your Facebook sidebar for easier access. I'll show you how to do this during an upcoming Team Chat.
Since moving our Team Chats to Monday nights, I’ve been happy to see attendance increase—especially since I started sending text reminders!
One concern is that our Team Chat currently conflicts with Adriana’s Team Chat. There are also several other FOREVER meetings, trainings, client events and personal commitments throughout the week, so finding a night that works for everyone isn’t going to be possible.
I would like to find the night that works for the greatest number of us.
I’ve posted a poll in the Trail Blazers Facebook Group. Please vote for the night that works best for you—even if your vote is to leave our Team Chat exactly where it is on Monday nights.
Until we decide otherwise, Team Chats will continue every Monday night.

Each Monday through the end of the year, I’ll post one simple challenge designed to help you take a small, meaningful step in your FOREVER business. Some weeks we’ll focus on reconnecting with clients, other weeks on visibility, follow-up, sharing what you do or simply building good business habits.
The goal isn’t to do everything at once. It’s to keep moving forward—one small action at a time.
Watch the Trail Blazers Facebook Group every Monday for the week’s challenge, then come back on Friday and let us know how you did. And remember—there may be a little extra incentive for participating!
